After helping thousands of founders grow and monetize online, we launched Social Compass to do it for them. Jenay got her start as the first employee at an unknown startup, Dollar Shave Club, where she experienced her first taste of virality. A few years later, she accidentally grew a 10k Instagram audience and fell in love with content creation - a spark that led to a $5M coaching and course business. While building that business, she met Skye on TikTok in 2021, who became her social media manager and later the head coach!

Together, they helped more than 800 small businesses leverage social media, generating over 100M views and tens of millions in revenue collectively.

After closing that chapter, they joined forces to build something bigger. In 2024, they launched Social Compass Management, a social-media-first creative agency built on nearly a decade of turning organic content into real results.

Outside of work, Jenay is a reality-TV super-fan, iced-tea fanatic, dog-walk lover, and hobby collector.

Skye has been creative since the age of four — scrapbooking, making jewelry, and crafting clay figures — but everything changed when she discovered iMovie at ten. Editing quickly became her perfect blend of creativity and tech, and by fourteen she was cutting 20+ hours of family vacation footage into a four-minute video that made everyone cry (in the best way).

She went on to study advertising, where she led creative strategy for campaigns for Tinder, and her team placed third in all of California. After working at an ads agency, she realized her real passion was organic social media — creating content that entertains, educates, and actually keeps people watching.

In 2021, she quit her job, launched her own business, and went viral on TikTok in the first week. That moment confirmed what she already knew: she could do this — and she could do it for others.

Now, as co-founder of the agency, Skye is obsessed with turning ideas into scroll-stopping videos, crafting strong hooks (a shared superpower with Jenay), and filming with clients. She treats every account like it’s her own, and the team brings that same level of dedication, strategy, and creativity to every client they work with.

That love for learning and for escaping into other worlds eventually evolved into a fascination with digital storytelling. By her teenage years, she was “that friend” who documented everything, uploading full Facebook albums from every event long before content creation became a career path.

Her work in social media began in 2021, when she unexpectedly found herself running the Instagram account for the pelvic floor clinic she worked at, an experience that sharpened her creative instincts and gave her a front-row seat to what engaging, mission-driven content can do.

Today, Carly focuses on what she truly loves: video editing, the kind that turns everyday, imperfect footage into something intentional. To her, editing is more than cutting clips. It’s structure, rhythm, and turning someone’s message into something people actually want to watch. She believes social media is a space for community and great editing makes this possible.

Outside of work, Carly loves a “sweet treat” and keeps her creativity grounded through cooking, crocheting, and obsessing over her cat Brûlot, a certified Sour Patch Kid with a chaotic-sweet personality.
